State Bird Provisions' Chefs Sign A Cookbook Deal

With a James Beard Award in their pockets and boatloads of national acclaim, the only surprising thing about State Bird Provisions writing a cookbook is that they haven't already gotten around to doing it. (Of course, the constant press, expansion, and forthcoming second restaurant probably didn't help matters.) Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski announced today that their first book will be called The Workshop, and is based around the idea of creativity in the kitchen and "how to workshop any ingredient." The secret to their sauerkraut pancakes is also promised (the secret to the namesake fried quail is already out). The book was sold to local publisher Ten Speed Press; no word as of yet on a release date.
