St. Helena's former French Blue space is now Archetype, and Bauer believes that owner Howard Backen's "changes are luring people back." New chef Ryder Zetts is doing good work with dishes like a "stellar" roasted salmon, and the staff "greets guests like old friends." Other standouts include a "well-conceived" riff on a nicoise salad and a halibut dish ("seafood is a strength" in the kitchen). "It seems as if the restaurant is beginning to realize Backen's vision for a local hangout." 2.5 stars. [Chron]
