Heklina can't seem to catch a break. After being rejected for a takeover of the still-vacant Paradise Lounge, the local drag-show legend (née Stefan Grygelko) is now having trouble opening a club in the Caliente Club across the street, which has been shuttered for going on five years now. A new zoning rule that bars clubs within 200 feet of residences is to blame, but it's not like loud nightclubs are new news for 11th Street's residents. Heklina is encouraging supporters to e-mail or Facebook Supervisor Jane Kim to help pass an exemption. [SFist]
