JAPANTOWN—It's time to start planning for the weekend, and first stop is Ramen Street, a celebration of all things noodles that's part of Japantown's two-day J-Pop Summit. In the lineup are eight ramen purveyors who'll be lined up on Post Street this weekend between 11am and 6pm. [TBI]
MISSION BAY—Also this weekend: 7x7's Big Eat Live, the first live action version of the magazine's annual "things to eat before you die" list. Held at AT&T Park on Saturday for noon-4pm, the event features bites from A16, Frances, 1760 and a host of other restaurants, plus drinks and live music. Tickets are $75/person and kids under six get in for free. [EaterWire]
NOE VALLEY—Noe Valley Bakery has been closed for a remodel, but they're back up and running with a brand-now look and Sightglass Coffee to wash down their pastries. [Tablehopper]
NORTH BEACH—Bastille Day has come and gone, but Belgian Independence Day is still ahead, and this Saturday, La Trappe Cafe will be celebrating with a special prix fixe dinner with beer pairings. Call ahead for reservations; you can find the menu here. [EaterWire]
