Uncle Brother's Chicken Debuts; Sparrow's Menu Shakeup

DUBOCE TRIANGLEWes Rowe of Wes Burger has joined forces with brother Walker Rowe for a new weekly popup that debuts at The Residence tonight. Called Uncle Brother's Chicken, the Tuesday night offering will follow a fried chicken theme. Tonight, there's Southern fried chicken with pimento mac n' cheese on the menu, plus "chickcharronnes" and more, all from 6pm-10pm. [EaterWire]

HAIGHT-ASHBURY—There's a new chef at work at Sparrow Bar & Kitchen, where Michael Goldfarb (Mission Beach Cafe, Spruce) has taken the reins. He's in the process of rolling out a new menu with a seasonal focus, which will showcase dishes like lamb tartare, chilled avocado soup, a fried green tomato sandwich and more, plus an expanded selection of homemade condiments. OAKLANDThe Half Orange, Jay Porter's burger and sausage spot, opened two weeks ago in Fruitvale, but they've just expanded their hours to include dinner, and will now stay open 'til 8pm on weeknights. The liquor license is still pending, however, so you'll have to wait to wash it all down with a beer. [Tablehopper]

TENDERLOIN—Tomorrow night, look out for a special wine dinner at Millennium, where up-and-coming winemaker Ian Brand will offer pairings like a La Marea Albarino with shiitake and tofu dumplings in nectarine pit and sea vegetable broth.
