After 11 years, Hideki Makiyama, the party-hearty chef-owner of Outer Richmond Japanese spot Oyaji, has decided to pack it in. Makiyama, who was known for getting tipsy and making off-color jokes with patrons, is headed back to Japan, where he hopes to open a restaurant. The new owner, Masa Kumagai, is an Osaka native and Oyaji alum. Oyaji will be closed for a few weeks while everything transfers over; the menu will also change. [Tablehopper]
