Twofish Baking Company, which has garnered a dedicated following for its Sea Ranch bakeshop, debuted its San Francisco outpost bright and early this morning. Owners Margaret Smith and Hilla Ahvenainen have joined Darwin Cafe on the narrow Ritch Street block sandwiched between SOMA office buildings, catering to the local tech offices.

Tablehopper has some details on the menu, which will include baked goods such as muffins, banana bread, scones and cakes, plus fan favorites like their signature apricot windowpanes and sticky buns. Of course, no sticky bun is complete without a cup of coffee, and Twofish will offer both coffee and espresso drinks from Equator, which they've served at their Sea Ranch location for over a decade.

On the lunch menu will be a rotating selection of three salads and a variety of calzones, which will be lighter and fresher than your typical pizza pocket, with options like "Hylla's Thrilla" (mozzarella, roasted onion, Mike's Hot Honey, and soppressata) a white calzone ( olive oil, garlic, mozzarella, ricotta, and basil) and a vegan calzone (garlic, onion, mushroom, artichoke hearts, and olives).

For now, hours are weekdays from 7:30am-3:30pm, with weekend hours and more menu options coming once they get comfortable in the new space.
