The Bauer nostalgia tour keeps it cheap this week with a visit to Tommy's Joynt, the Van Ness hofbrau that's been serving since 1947. The food "puts all those $10 sandwiches from the trendy food trucks to shame," with "intense" buffalo stew" and "expertly carved" corned beef and cabbage. "It's inexpensive, it's good and it serves both the famous and not-so-famous...It's food that's both nostalgic and ageless, which is why it's probably busier now than the day it opened." Though it may close for a remodel soon. [Inside Scoop]
