It's boom times for East Bay gluten-free eateries, with Sanctuary Bistro recently opened in West Berkeley and Bacano Bakery headed to Emeryville. Now comes word that Grease Box is shifting focus from its barbecue dinners to a new bakery format, which will offer house-made bagels, fruit pies and other gluten-free baked goods. The ever-popular gluten-free fried chicken will stay a staple at weekday lunch, and the weekend brunch menu will remain unchanged. [EBX]
