Though the 49ers were unfortunately trounced by the Broncos in this weekend's preseason debut of the new Levi's Stadium, fans can at least console themselves with some good food. In addition to the myriad of concessions (covered here), Michael Mina's new project Bourbon Steak & Pub made its debut over the weekend. It's Mina's second new Bay Area project this year, alongside Pabu and The Ramen Bar, and the biggest edition yet of his upscale Bourbon Steak chain, which has a location in Union Square and offshoots in Scottsdale, Vegas, and D.C., but unlike the other Bourbon Steaks, it also has a more casual pub component, for those who don't feel like tucking into a fancy dinner in their jerseys and eyeblack.

While its location screams football, BS&P is actually open seven days a week. The Bourbon Steak half of the party seats 99, and features a menu of half Mina classics, and half original recipes from chef John Cahill (Cafe des Amis). Angus and A5 Wagyu steaks, lobster pot pie, black truffle mac and cheese, and dry-aged duck for two are among the food options, and there's a full bar specializing in, of course, bourbon, including a bourbon cart with spirits smoked tableside to enhance their flavor profiles. Here's the full menu.

On the pub side, which seats 91, Mina is offering 50 draft beers, fancy takes on pub classics like nachos and wings, six kinds of burgers, and oak-smoked BBQ (ribs, pulled pork, hot links, and tri-tip, plus classic sides). An enormous rotisserie wall in the massive open kitchen provides roasted chicken for both restaurants, and is capable of fitting a whole cow or ox for game days. Here's the full menu. There are 70 hi-def TVs in the space and a special sports ticker, making it ideal for watching any kind of game (they have all the sports packages).

But while BS&P is open to the public during away games and on non-game days, home games are another story. That's when it's transformed into Michael Mina's Tailgate, a members-only club (with a $5K membership fee) open before and during games to a crowd of approximately 1,000 (a private events space within the restaurant handles the overflow). The swanky Tailgate boasts a five-course menu of luxury ingredients, plus unlimited booze. After the game, it'll shut down, and the restaurant will reopen to postgame revelry.

With the exception of home game days, hours for Bourbon Steak & Pub are Sunday-Thursday, 5:30-10 pm, and Friday-Saturday, 5:30-11 pm. Bourbon Pub is also open daily for lunch (11:30 am-5:30 pm).
