Oakland Legalizes Pinball; Pop-Up Gay Bars

OAKLAND—It sounds like a rejected script idea for Footloose, but until this week, pinball was illegal in Oakland. Thankfully, cooler heads have prevailed, and the law was overturned after 80 years on the books. [Wired]

MYSTERY LOCATION—As real gay bars become an endangered species in SF, pop-up gay bars are becoming more of a thing. And you can even host your own. [SFoodie]

MISSION—Dine Italian-style with Imbibe magazine this Sunday at Trick Dog, where the Bon Vivants and crew will be serving a three course Italian-American feast (think fritto misto, eggplant cannelloni, and Neapolitan ice cream sandwiches) with appropriate cocktail pairings. Tickets are $55, and pizza Negronis are involved. [EaterWire]

SAUSALITO—With Drakes Bay Oyster Co. closed by the government, many of its workers, who have lived on-site for decades, are losing their homes. Help finance their relocation at Shuck For Shelter, a fundraiser this Sunday afternoon at Fish. The $75 ticket includes wine, a raw bar, and plenty of seafood dishes. [EaterWire]
