Butchertown Gourmet En Route to Bayview

Fresh on the heels of news that Foghorn Bayview is headed to the city's southeastern corner comes word of another Bayview project, Butchertown Gourmet. A collaboration between Bayview Underground Food Scene founding members Barbara Gratta (of Bayview-based Gratta Wines) and Xan deVoss (of wholesome bread project Fox and Lion Bread), the new spot will be a bread bakery and wine bar, with special pizza nights and more.

The space, a former barbershop at Third Street and Williams, has sat vacant for over a year, but Tablehopper reports that Gratta and deVoss hope to revive it with grocery items, a selection of grab-and-go sandwiches, and additions like beer and coffee to make for a neighborhood-friendly hub (with prices to match). Butchertown Gourmet is set to open in October, but if you can't wait that long, they'll be at Pier 70 for the Bayview Pop-Up Market on September 4th and 19th, 5:30-8pm.
