Bar Dogwood's Alexeis Filipello Expanding Her Oakland Empire With The Lodge

New, 2 comments

Bar Dogwood and Stag's Lunchette proprietress Alexeis Filipello is on a roll, with the forthcoming Dogwood sister spot Darling's set to debut in November. Now, despite also consulting on the new Cafe Underwood's menu, Filipello is apparently not busy enough, with Tablehopper now reporting that she has a fourth project underway.

Though the location is still a closely guarded secret, we now know that the project will be a bar called The Lodge. Filipello will be teaming up with fellow Oaklander Matt Eiseman for the new concept, which will offer small plates like fish fries, crudo, salads and chowder, and the Bay Area's perennially popular oysters on the half shell. Drinks will follow the classic cocktails format, and true to its name, the space will have a woodsy, lodge feel to it, with a total of 60 seats that will include an outdoor patio. We'll keep you posted as a location and opening timeframe emerge.
