After debuting locations in Emeryville and Livermore, popcorn chain Cornology has arrived cityside, with a new outpost in North Beach. It's modeled after Garret's and similar spots in Chicago, offering an array of popcorn in different flavors, including caramel, cheddar, movie theater-style, truffle parmesan, kettle corn, Jamaican mojo, and Guittard chocolate drizzle. (You can also get a classic "Chicago mix" of cheddar and caramel, or a "California mix" of Jamaican mojo and kettle corn.) The popcorn is offered in bags ranging from 7 to 42 cups (they claim the contents will keep fresh for up to three months), as well as tins that range up to 3 3/4 gallons. They also offer warm roasted nuts and soft drinks, but the popcorn is obviously the main attraction, and would certainly make a good snack over a drink at Specs or Vesuvio. Hours are daily, 11 am-9:30 pm; they're open until 10 pm on weekends.
