There's an interesting twist involving The Hall, the food hall headed to mid-Market later this month: within two years, it'll be gone. Like nearby, now-shuttered predecessor A Temporary Offering (in the currently-remodeling Renoir Hotel), The Hall will serve to jumpstart the mid-Market area by filling a vacancy while a bigger project goes through permitting. Once it gets the rubber stamp from City Hall, The Hall will make way for a proposed 186-unit apartment building with 10,000 square feet of retail space. [Chron]
