Bummer news in Nob Hill: after 28 years, tiny Chinese spot U-Lee is shutting down, yet another victim of rising SF rents. Owner Kenneth Lee, whose parents founded the restaurant, confirmed the closure. "Our lease has ended, and the new price we were asked to pay was too high," he says. U-Lee's last day will be Sunday, September 28th. There is one bright spot for fans, though they'll have to make a trek: Lee is at work on a new location at 36th and Balboa, which he plans to open in early 2015. We'll have more info on U-Lee's new home as it develops, but for now, head over to grab a last taste of those gigantic potstickers and other takeout fare before it's too late.
