Let's kick things off with two new spots for your brunch rotation. First up is adorable Tenderloin bistro Huxley, which is now serving brunch on Sundays (11:30 am-2:30 pm). Chef Sara Hauman's menu includes French toast with apple butter, avocado toast made with sea urchin and bread from neighboring bakery Jane on Larkin, and braised pork with fried eggs, lentils, and radishes. And for the high-rollers out there, you can have your steak and eggs with a dry-aged New York strip, for a cool $29. Mimosas (including a "beermosa" with Allagash White) are in play, and micheladas are on the way—owner Kris Esqueda spent months perfecting them at his Divis wine bar Vinyl, so they're sure to be solid. Also hopping aboard the brunch train this coming weekend is the new location of Marlowe, which is rolling out a menu of amazing-sounding options like housemade mini eclairs, tomato-baked eggs with spiced lamb, pancakes with bacon butter (!), and French toast soldiers with vanilla creme anglaise. And of course, the famed Marlowe burger eagerly awaits your hangover. On the booze side, they'll have a Fernet and blood orange-tinged take on a Corpse Reviver, a grapefruit mimosa, and a vodka-cocktail sauce-lemon concoction called The Butcher. Catch them Saturday and Sunday, 10 am-2:30 pm. [EaterWire]
Meanwhile, those who've been put off by the insane lines at new Mission ramen emporium Orenchi Beyond will be pleased to learn that they're going to launch lunch service on Saturday, January 17. They'll be open six days a week (closed Mondays) from 11:30 am-1:30 pm, with the same lineup of ramen and snacks as the dinner menu. Given the short time frame, small space, and seemingly inevitable waits, it's probably best not to get there any later than 1 if you want a seat. [EaterWire]
