Dinner, Whisky and a Movie at The Progress; Aster Pops Up at Coi, Will Open in February

Plus, two brunch pop-ups for your weekend fun.

FILLMORE— Local app Chefs Feed has filmed a mini-documentary about the making of The Progress, the new spot from the team who brought you State Bird Provisions. Now they want to show it to you, introduce you to the chefs, and ply you with snacks and cocktails, followed by a banquet-style dinner with wine pairings. Take them up on it and buy tickets here. MISSIONAster, the restaurant from Brett Cooper and Daniel Patterson, seems to finally be on the horizon. Not only will it (hopefully) open its doors in the Mission by the end of February, but diners can get a sneak peek at a series of pop-up dinners at Coi. The four-course prix fixe dinners will take place on Mondays (when Coi is normally closed) on the following days: January 19, January 26, February 2, and February 9. The meal will run $75, with the option of wine pairings for $35. [Inside Scoop]

MISSION— The folks behind Cry Baby's brunch pop-up will be back for a January showing at PizzaHacker. Brunch will be Saturday, January 17 from 10:30am-2pm; no reservations, cash only. [EaterWire]

RUSSIAN HILL—And in further breakfast news, Chrissy's Waffles is bringing their gourmet waffled goods to Biondivino Wine Boutique this Sunday, January 18. Snag a malted Meyer lemon waffle and a blood orange dreamsicle presecco cordial from 12pm-3pm. [EaterWire]
