CIVIC CENTER— After 36 magical years, the McDonald's on Van Ness Ave. has been abruptly shuttered. The rumors are swirling about what developers might inflict on that parcel of land— Hoodline reports that a senior housing development was planned in the late '90s, but the permits have since lapsed. A McDonald's rep plead ignorant about the fate of the land, but did emphasize that "Every effort is being made to relocate as many employees as possible to other restaurants." [Hoodline]
INNER SUNSET—The Inner Sunset will soon be down a tea room, as Mellow Mellow Tea Room and Cafe has decided to close their doors after only a year. The cafe is closing for "family reasons," but plans to stay open until another tenant is found to occupy the space. [Hoodline]
