CIVIC CENTER— After 36 magical years, the McDonald's on Van Ness Ave. has been abruptly shuttered. The rumors are swirling about what developers might inflict on that parcel of land— Hoodline reports that a senior housing development was planned in the late '90s, but the permits have since lapsed. A McDonald's rep plead ignorant about the fate of the land, but did emphasize that "Every effort is being made to relocate as many employees as possible to other restaurants." [Hoodline]

INNER SUNSET—The Inner Sunset will soon be down a tea room, as Mellow Mellow Tea Room and Cafe has decided to close their doors after only a year. The cafe is closing for "family reasons," but plans to stay open until another tenant is found to occupy the space. [Hoodline]

MISSION— There's a Korean BBQ party happening at Namu Gaji, with all-you-can-eat BBQ and all-you-can-drink Hite beer for $70. Enjoy a family-style meal of kimchee, galbi, spicy pork ribs, pork belly and other family recipes over the course of two seatings at the communal table. The first seating is from at 5:30pm-7:30pm. Second seating is  8pm-10pm. Buy tickets here. [EaterWire]

NOB HILL— Cozy wine bar Amelie is turning nine years old and they're throwing a party to celebrate. Stop by Monday, January 26 for $1 oysters, happy hour specials and music from French DJ Franky Bossy. They'll also debut a new menu along the way.   [EaterWire]
