Betelnut may have only just closed, but Mario Tolentino is far from taking a break. The chef is hosting a series of pop-ups in October, and now he's just been named culinary director of The Market, the 50,000-square-foot dining hall in the Twitter building that has nine separate eating concepts, a grocery store and food kiosks. Tolentino brings experience from Betelnut, of course, plus he's worked under Michael Mina and won an episode of "Chopped" Season 3. He's hoping to add even more dining concepts to The Market, like the first brick-and-mortar location of the Bait & Barley pop-ups he's holding this month, and by bringing in talent like Richie Nakano (Hapa Ramen), if he can get him, Inside Scoop reported. He'll be in charge of both the Market Street location, as well as the upcoming Polk Street one. Lots more details to come.
