David Lynch is shifting the focus of St. Vincent, his wine-focused Mission restaurant, to become a wine bar and wine shop. The veteran sommelier tells Inside Scoop, "I’m basically closing St. Vincent and we’re rebooting it with a much bigger focus on retail and wine bar, as opposed to full-on restaurant."
The shop will now be open during the day and food will still be available "but will be more casual, limited and Italian-accented, hedging more closely to an enoteca model — tramezzini, salads, etc. — as opposed to a formal restaurant." The focus, however, will really be on stopping in for a glass of wine, or buying a bottle to go. Lynch also says he wants to build St. Vincent's delivery business.
St. Vincent is currently closed while the space is redesigned to be more retail friendly, but Lynch says he'd like it to be re-opened by November 1. Stay tuned for updates.
