Cala, the very pretty Mexican seafood spot from chef/owner Gabriela Cámara, has been open just about a month now. And while there’s still no word on when that back-alley taco joint will join in on the fun, for now Cámara has added brunch to the Cala line-up. You won’t find meat on the dinner menu, but it abounds at brunch. "We do exclusively seafood with a little bit of other things," Cámara told Eater. "But on the brunch menu, we're going to let pork and beef and chicken flow." Dishes like chicken chilaquiles and torta ahogada with pork carnitas are flowing, along with plenty of that aforementioned seafood and Cámara’s takes on brunch classics like French toast. And, of course, there are plenty of brunchy drinks for a.m. imbibing, including several tequila- and mezcal-based options, as is Cala’s calling card. Cala is now open for brunch on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Check out the full menu below.
