SF-based Gluten-Free Forever, the quarterly zine focused on the gluten-free lifestyle, hits (some) stands later this week with news that food truck lover and FiDi fried chicken provider Tyler Florence has quietly been living a gluten-free life. Prompted to visit the doctor from "fatigue, brain fog, and general sluggishness," Florence was diagnosed as gluten intolerant after a food allergy test. Turns out his son is, too, so the entire Florence family has now started trading pasta for spaghetti squash and taste testing frozen GF food products. Florence still eats gluten when he has to for Wayfare Tavern recipe development, and unfortunately for those who are gluten-free, there are no plans for GF popovers in the works.
Other GFF issue highlights include a ton of gluten-free holiday recipes for cookies, roasts, party appetizers and more. Take a peek below, or grab a copy yourself online or at Barnes & Noble, Whole Foods, Omnivore Books, Rainbow Grocery, Rare Device, Juicy News, Smoke Signals and Good Earth in Marin.
