Del Popolo's Opening Menu Has All the Pizza, And Then Some

In case you missed it, popular mobile Neapolitan pizzeria Del Popolo is very close to its brick and mortar location at 855 Bush St. There are only six more days until the opening on Tuesday, November 17, and there’s now a menu to prove it. Owner Jon Darsky tapped chef de cuisine Jeffrey Hayden (Alinea, wd50) to beef up the truck’s normal roster of three pies to a full menu of small plates and seven to eight pizzas. "It's almost entirely new. The margarita pizza, of course, is classic and will always be there. But the entire small plate portion is new," Darsky told Eater. "The whole menu will change pretty frequently and will probably run for a couple weeks and then we'll change it." Darsky plans to see what people respond well to and go from there. "We don't want to overhaul the menu every single day, but we've been approaching with an open mind about what it's going to be," he explained.

As for the drinks, Ordinaire wine shop in Oakland collaborated on the offerings, and Andrew Merritt (Saison, Michael Mina) worked on the beer list.
