MISSION— Although chef Brandon Jew is in the midst of opening his own restaurant, Mister Jiu's, he still has time to take over Central Kitchen for a special Chinese New Year dinner. The dinner takes place February 19 from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. [EaterWire]

COW HOLLOW— Celebrate the end of carnival season with $5 Fat Tuesday at MatrixFillmore. Presented by Plumpjack Wines and Spirits, they'll be serving classic New Orleans-style cocktails, Abita beer and snacks for $5, from 6 p.m. til 9 p.m. on February 17. [EaterWire]
