Nick's Pizza Team Goes All-Day with New Temescal Restaurant

They'll serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and lots of pizza.

Fans of the "Oakland-style" pies at Nick's Pizza will now have a little more breathing room, as owners Nick Yapor-Cox and Aron Ford have signed on to transform the roomy former Barkada space on into a full-service restaurant.

The East Bay Express reports that the upcoming restaurant, Nick and Aron's, will take full advantage of the former bakery's 1,400 square-foot dining room and two gas-deck ovens, offering a variety of baked goods, pastries, and, naturally, pizzas. They plan to serve breakfast through dinner, starting out with croissants and pastries and moving on to sandwiches on their housemade baguettes, pizzas, salads and oven-roasted entrees like roast chicken. Additionally, the duo is looking to bake a variety of breads for sale by the loaf, including baguettes, "Temescal Sourdough," and vegan Fougasse, stuffed with fillings like pears, pecans and cardamom. Meanwhile, the original Nick's Pizza on Shattuck  will operate as usual, churning out a small selection of high-quality pies in very close quarters, with Yapor-Cox on dough duty and Ford in charge of the morning pastries.

Nick and Aron's is slated to open in early March, serving morning pastries and coffee, lunch and dinner, with brunch on the horizon. Hours will be Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday 8 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sunday 8 a.m.-10 p.m.
