After seven and a half years, Marina wine bar and restaurant Bin 38 is saying goodbye, as owner Don Davis has decided to leave the restaurant industry to run a forthcoming winery and tasting room in the Russian River Valley. "It was an opportunity I couldn't turn down," says Davis, who'll be transitioning Bin 38 out of existence over the next two and a half months, with a planned closing date sometime in April. He's planning to enact a 'farewell tour' of special events over the next few months to say goodbye.
The space already has a taker: Brian Cassanego and the team behind Hayes Valley's Noir Lounge, who are transforming it into a concept tentatively titled The Scotland Yard. Davis says it'll close for just a week or two after transitioning ownership for a few cosmetic changes, then reopen with a very similar focus on artisan wine, craft beer, and food. We've reached out to Cassanego for more info on The Scotland Yard, and will update accordingly.
