4505 Burgers & BBQ is coming up on the year mark on Divisadero, but due to the hit 'cue joint's explosive popularity, Ryan Farr and co. had a hard time carving out the time to get their promised late-night burger window open. Happily, they finally made it work: 4505 has announced that the burger window will softly open this Friday and Saturday, with a grand opening celebration next Tuesday, March 17, in order to feed St. Patrick's Day drinkers. Hours will be 10 pm-1 am, with a very streamlined menu: the classic "Best Damn Cheeseburger," fries, and a selection of to-go beer and wine.
After the window makes its debut, Farr plans to keep it open every Friday and Saturday for the same hours, and will occasionally open it on other nights when there's a big event going down (like sold-out shows at the Independent, music festivals in Golden Gate Park, or drinking-centric holidays). And you can even get the burgers if you're far from Divis: both Postmates and Caviar have been brought on to deliver the window's offerings whenever it's open. There won't be any seating, so you'll have to take your midnight snack on the road; Farr says he's hoping to add some later on.
The other big piece of 4505 vaporware is the restaurant's patio, which comprises the majority of its seating. Right now, the space is entirely open to the elements, but construction on a more permanent setup has finally begun. Hoodline reports that the eventual patio will be divided into thirds: a shipping container with a skylight, offering completely indoor seating; a semi-covered space under an awning, equipped with heat lamps; and a fully open area, resembling the current one. Hogwire fencing will be used to create a barrier, and twinkle lights will be strung overhead. If all goes as planned, expect the new 4505 patio to arrive in time for the restaurant's first-anniversary celebrations, which will be the first week of May.
