IPA Madness at Brewcade, Bees and Beers at the Dock in Oakland

CASTRO— Tonight, video game arcade/munchie bar Brewcade hosts Stone Brewing for "IPA Madness." Stone will be pouring five (!) different IPAs including a Go To Session IPA, the flagship Stone IPA, a Belgian-style Cali-Belgique IPA, a 7.7% ABV Delicious IPA made with lemon drop and El Dorado hops and the knockout Enjoy By 4.20.14 Imperial IPA fresh from the brewery. OAKLAND— On Thursday night The Beer Shed on the Dock in Oakland will be hosting the Urban Bee Lab for a discussion of Bees & Beers. The evening will be a chance to buzz about, you guessed it: bees and beers. There will also be a preview of Team Caindru's new film California Bees & Blooms, which promises to reveal the secret, hidden lives of California's 1,600 native bee species. [EaterWire]

ROCKRIDGE— Local, painstakingly handcrafted coffee chain Philz Coffee is coming to the corner of College and Claremont Streets on the Berkeley-Oakland border. The shop was handing out coffee to the neighbors today, but officially opens on April 1st. [Inside Scoop]
