Tofino Wines snuck in below the radar over the weekend, softly opening their doors at the corner of Masonic and Geary.

The wine bar and wine shop, from seasoned wine industry couple Mark Nevin and April Sack, aims to provide a social gathering place for tastings and events. With hundreds of wines (and some beers) available for purchase, there's plenty to taste. Currently, there are ten wines by the glass and six wines on tap from highly-esteemed California producers (Matthiasson, Broc Cellars, Wind Gap, Banshee and Lioco), plus three beers on tap (Almanac, Fort Point and Deschutes).

Those wishing for immediate gratification may purchase a retail bottle from an extensive inventory and enjoy it in Tofino's spacious 32-seat bar area, alongside a small menu of snacks like crostini with Bellwether farms ricotta and Calabrian chilis and cheese and charcuterie plates that will change weekly. Stay tuned for more menu items in the coming weeks.

Hours are currently Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m.- 10 p.m., Friday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-12 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
