SAN FRANCISCO— The long-awaited cookbook from Benu's Corey Lee, titled Benu, hit bookstore shelves this week. The cookbook, which is beautiful and remarkably difficult impossible for non-professionals to use, includes an ode to Corey Lee by chef David Chang. Check out Chang's love letter in the latest issue of Lucky Peach, in which he recalls Lee's kitchen nickname ("the terrorist") and calls him "one of the best chefs on earth." [Lucky Peach]

UPPER HAIGHT— VeganBurg, the Singapore-based vegan fast food chain, plans to open its doors by August. They're also hiring, looking for staff members to help them "build and manage the new generation of fast food restaurants." If you're into "totally redefining food pop culture," then this is the job for you. [Hoodline]

SOMA— East Coast transplants will rejoice to learn of a pop-up dedicated soleley to cheesesteaks. Adam Mesnick, the sandwich man behind Deli Board and Rye Project, is whipping up cheesesteaks with rolls flown in from Philly, Buffalo wings, something called Cheez Whiz and a bunch of other delicious-but-bad-for-you treats. The feast will take place at the Deli Board from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. on April 23, April 30, May 14, May 21 and May 28. [EaterWire]
