After finally scoring a fro-yo shop a couple of weeks back, the Castro has another sweet treat in score: Cole Valley's three-year-old The Ice Cream Bar is planning on debuting their second location there later this year. Owner Juliet Pries has nailed down the 1100-square-foot former L'Occitane space at 18th and Castro, where she's planning to offer all of the accoutrements from the flagship, including housemade ice cream and soda-fountain drinks. Pastry chef Lori Rich will oversee both locations' kitchens, and there will be at least some food options, though the menu is still being hammered out. It's also possible that the new location might get a different name from the original, but that's still TBD as well. For now, expect Ice Cream Bar #2 to debut sometime this fall.
