Largely unchanged since it was established in 1973, the popular English-style pub is known for its strong drinks, French onion soup and lively atmosphere. Located across from the gate to the Presidio at Lyon and Lombard, generations of San Franciscans have gathered at Liverpool Lil's to watch Giants games and drink Guinness within its wood-paneled walls.
The Chron reports that the fire originally broke out in the residential units above the restaurant, spreading to the attic above the neighboring Travelodge motel. Still no word on the extent of the damage to Liverpool Lil's.
