SOMA— Mascots: they're just like us! Giants mascot Lou Seal was recently spotted at the Deli Board, eating a sandwich named in his honor. The sandwich is, like its namesake, rather sizable; it is comprised of salami, capicola, mortadella, provolone cheese, cherry peppers, Italian dressing and garlic spread, atop a Dutch crunch roll. The Lou Seal is available on game days only, so make sure to check the schedule. [EaterWire]
SAN FRANCISCO— The latest issue of GFF Magazine is hitting the newsstands this week, offering up recipes and lifestyle stories to devotees of the gluten-free lifestyle. Several local chefs and establishments were featured in the issue, including recipes from Melissa Perello (Frances, Octavia), Niki Ford (Chez Panisse) and the Marina's Seed + Salt, whose beet burger is the cover model.
