Haute Living

SAN FRANCISCO— Unless you've been living under a rock (a really dry rock), it's clear that California's drought is going nowhere soon. To encourage diners to conserve water, two SF bars are now offering a dollar discount for beverages without ice. The discount applies to any drink that doesn't require frozen water, including beer, wine, or whiskey not-on-the-rocks. Stop by Wish Bar in SoMa or Bond Bar in the Mission, to collect a prize for being green (and possibly drunk). [Inside Scoop]

FINANCIAL DISTRICT— #TBT is coming to life at the bar at the W Hotel, every Thursday and Friday night. There will be throwback music from the 80s, 90s and 00s, as well as questionable drinks from the same era (think Sex on the Beach and Kamikaze shots). The party goes from 6 p.m. to closing at the hotel's UPSTAIRS bar. [EaterWire]

MISSION— To celebrate their 43rd birthday and National Empanada Day (everyone's favorite holiday, of course), Pollo Campero will be giving away the popular Latin treats for free, on Tuesday, April 8. San Francisco's first and only location is located in the Mission, where interested parties can procure their dough-encased freebies. [EaterWire]

SOMA— Top Chef finalist and SF darling Melissa King is teaming up with fellow cooking competition alum Ryan Scott for a cooking class. The duo will cover knife skills, soups and stocks and tricks of the trade, followed by a family-style lunch. The class takes place Saturday, April 11 and goes from 1 p.m.-4 p.m.; tickets are limited and available here. [EaterWire]
