After the Giants beat the Miami Marlins on Mother's Day, pitcher Matt Cain (a.k.a. The Horse) celebrated with a cozy dinner at Thomas Keller's Ad Hoc, in Yountville. Cain, who has been recovering from elbow surgery and has recently found himself on the disabled list with a flexor tendon strain, will hopefully return to the pitcher's mound in late May, according to the Giants.
In the meantime, Thomas Keller, an avid Giants fan who's known for getting festive after a win, tweeted a photo of one of the restaurant's Heath Ceramics plates signed by the Cains, who proclaimed his dinner "perfect." (He would know.) Ad Hoc's Sunday night menu, which is served family-style, featured roast pork loin with asparagus, marble potatoes, wilted chard, and crispy onion rings, with ice cream sundaes for dessert.
