Chestnut Street's Circa Shutters After a Decade

The team behind Palm House is taking over.

San Francisco Days

Circa owner Guri Walia announced back in March that he'd be bringing on some new partners to shake up the restaurant, and he's followed through: today, the team behind Palm House, Anderson Pugash and Benson Wang, along with Pugash's Crossroads Entertainment colleague Jack Herr, have announced that they've acquired the space and plan to completely revamp it. Pugash wouldn't share any more details on what Circa's new name and concept will be, but tipsters have told Eater that Circa's dance-floor component is likely on its way out, in favor of a more classic sit-down restaurant space.

As of today, Circa is closed; the plan is to bring in Palm House's executive chef, Chris Ricketts, to oversee the new concept as chef-partner, with current Palm House sous chef Jason Saunders running the kitchen. No word on an opening timeline as of yet.
