MISSION— Central Kitchen's chef Thomas McNoughton is hosting a "Spring to Summer" preservation dinner TONIGHT, Tuesday, July 21. The five-course dinner will use ingredients that have been preserved since March, alongside an explanation from the kitchen team on what went into the preservation of each item. If tonight's not an option, make a note for their October "Summer in Fall" menu. Tonight's dinner takes place at the Butcher Block in Central Kitchen at 6:30 p.m.; tickets available here. OAKLAND— Sweeter words than "mezcal-taco pop-up" have never been uttered. Get in on the action with a preview of upcoming Oakland spot Calavera's tacos and cocktails made with Peirde Almas mezcal. There'll be a rare mezcal tasting as well, including a rare "harvest mezcal" distilled with fruit, spices and a rabbit saddle. The event takes place at Lungomare (since Calavera is still under construction) on Tuesday, July 21 at 5:30 p.m. [EaterWire]

MISSION— Head to the Mission for lunchtime tour of "Hot Dogs Around the World," featuring hot dogs from Colombia, Argentina, Vietnam, Korea and more. Beer-infused sous vide mini sausages, brioche buns and a variety of topping will round out this sausage fest from chefs Scott Peabody (Per se) and Monica Lo (Nomiku). The event takes place Saturday, July 25 at 12:30 p.m.; tickets available here.

OAKLAND— Bay Grape is hosting their "Cider Die" party this weekend, offering an opportunity to taste California six ciders and meet the people who make them. The party is $20 at the door on Saturday, July 25 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. [EaterWire]
