SAN FRANCISCO — Bon Appétit restaurant and drinks editor Andrew Knowlton penned a love letter to the San Francisco food scene, writing, "I don’t think I've ever experienced such a concentration of exciting and invigorating restaurants in a single year, in a single season. Not even in New York." His enthusiasm has made SF the only city with two places on the magazine's upcoming list of the country's top ten new restaurants. [Bon Appétit]

SAN FRANCISCO — Bread wonderboy Chad Robertson (Tartine) gets nerdy on ancient grains in a New Yorker video where he talks about his quest to bring back older breadmaking techniques. There's lots of grain porn, in addition to a nice little history lesson and a peek into his creative technique. [New Yorker]

DOGPATCH — Nitrogen-infused, kegged cold brew coffee service is coming to Ritual Coffee Roasters, which it says "pours like an Irish stout, and contains a mildly effervescent, creamy quality" with a higher caffeine content. Try the new offering at this weekend's San Francisco Street Food Festival where Ritual will be sampling the brew, which rolls out at all of its locations in the coming weeks. [EaterWire]

MARINA — Sample craft spirits to your heart's content at the SF Craft Spirits Carnival this weekend. In addition to burgeoning brands like Casa Noble, Campo de Encanto Pisco and Rum Diplomatico, a Polynesian dance performance and unlimited tasting is included in the ticket price. [EaterWire]
