ALAMEDA — Back to school isn't always total drag, especially when essential SF ice cream spot CREAM is giving out free ice cream sandwiches from 12 p.m.- midnight to mark the occasion. Run (don't walk) to the brand spanking new Alameda location for gratis mix-and-match cookie sandwiches this Saturday, August 22. [EaterWire]

SAN FRANCISCO — Steam beer's got quite the San Francisco history, and to celebrate that, Anchor Brewing Company is hosting Drink Steam Week in honor of its 50th anniversary. There is a whole slew of events this week that include the historic lager, like a free pint and scoop of Humphry Slocombe's steam cream flavor at The Yard on Friday from 4 p.m.- 7 p.m.  [7x7]

MISSIONPink Zebra, the Asian-fusion pop-up from chef Jesse Koide is popping back up with two ticketed dinners at BFF Namu Gaji Monday, August 24 and Monday, August 31. Like past dinners, there are five courses (including the likes of charred octopus and roasted pepper fondue) with wine pairings, featuring Trumpet Wine on the 24th and Kermit Lynch on the 31st. PRESIDIO — Over at Presidio Social Club, McCay Winery is stopping by to pair its Rhone-style wines with dishes like grilled figs with honey and crispy pork belly along with the Carignane varietal, and bacon-wrapped trout with the Paisley blend (zinfandel and petite syrah). The event takes place August 27; grab your tickets here. [EaterWire]
