FINANCIAL DISTRICT — Start your Saturday nights off right with some jazz and absinthe at Gaspar Brasserie's new weekly Parisian Jazz Series from 7 p.m.- 10 p.m. The music, from rotating local musicians, accompanies a $45 three-course prix fixe classic French meal, and you can wash it all down with some $12 absinthe fountain drinks. LIVERMORE — Lots is happening over at Wente Vineyards in the next few weeks: August 22 brings "Karl Wente Presents," a live music fundraiser benefitting the Wente Foundation for Arts Education and the Livermore Valley Education Foundation. There are two movie screenings (Big Hero 6 on August 21 and Pitch Perfect on September 11) with pizza and wine on the lawn, and a "Front Porch Music Festival" on September 5 with live music and even more wine, on both the front lawn and in the barrel room.
