It's a little while out, but come December, Outer Richmond is getting a new casual neighborhood Italian spot. To be called Fiorella, the restaurant and enoteca will serve fresh pastas, pizza, crostini and antipasti for dinner and brunch. Staying true to the enoteca aspect, there will be a big focus on boutique Italian-produced wine, as well as domestically grown Italian varietals (and some beer, too).
Owner Boris Nemchenock (Uva Enoteca) has teamed up with chef/partner Brandon Gillis, who last cooked at popular neighborhood staple Franny's in Brooklyn. It's a return to his roots for Nemchenock, who grew up in the Richmond District and wanted to open the kind of neighborhood place that he felt was missing back in his childhood. The restaurant will have about 40 seats, located in the former Shimo space at 2339 Clement St.
