Oro — one of fall's major restaurant arrivals — officially opens for business tonight. The Mid-Market Californian/Mediterranean spot from chef Jason Fox (Commonwealth) and partner Timothy Felkner (Vigilante Hospitality) is designed to be more casual than Fox's Commonwealth, with lots of family-style shared plates, housemade charcuterie from chef de cuisine Travis Day (Central Kitchen, Yoshi's) and a "blind tasting menu" option that's a chef's choice mix of specials and dishes from the menu, which you can check out here. Drinks from bar manager Randy Mariani (Tupper & Reed, Foreign Cinema) are also a housemade affair with a nod toward sharing, like the octopus-like drinking vessel that lets you pour your own gin cocktails at the table. Plus, wine director Kelly Evans (Saison) amassed over 100 bottle options. Take a look around the space in the slideshow above.
