- Eric Michaud reports on Twitter that Mocca closed on August 24 after 30 years in business. The Italian café on Maiden Lane was a popular spot for tourists, shoppers and people who worked in the area to dine alfresco. Unfortunately, as Mocca's sign states, the owners lost their lease.
- This has not been a great couple of weeks for Castro restaurants. Hoodline reports that Janchi Korean Gastropub closed last week (along with Zapata, Chile Pies and Pesce). This is actually the third closure in that space since January (Barracuda Sushi in January and then ManDu in May).
- An Eater tipster also let us know that Rustic Pizza in the Mission has shut its doors, and a nearby business confirmed the news. There are now signs in the windows offering the space (which has a patio) for lease. We'll keep you posted on who moves into the spot.
- It's been a few weeks, but O'Mai Cafe in the Inner Richmond is still closed. It appears it may just be for renovations, but we'll keep you posted when we know more.
Say So Long to Maiden Lane's Mocca and the Mission's Rustic Pizza
Janchi Korean Gastropub in the Castro also closed its doors last week.
