Lemonade, a cafeteria-like, all-day healthy food buffet concept that has done gangbusters in Los Angeles, is officially invading the Bay Area. Three former La Boulange spaces — 781 Mission St. at the Metreon, 151 University Ave. in Palo Alto and 1384 Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek — are getting a quick turnaround for a spring 2016 debut, bringing the company’s store count up to 21. The company’s founder and executive chef Alan Jackson called the former La Boulange stores the “perfect fit” for Lemonade as they're both all about casual, convenient, high-quality food. Lemonade’s food philosophy is a “healthy, flavorful alternative to fast food,” which sounds an awful lot like Loco’l, set to open early 2016, too. Let the fast food hunger games begin.
