There’s some drama going down at Gangway, San Francisco’s 104-year-old gay bar in the Tenderloin. Owner Jung Lee is in the process of selling the bar following a costly lawsuit in which he had to pay $7,400 in back wages to a bartender and city fees. Deciding it was time to retire, Lee quietly put Gangway on the market and found some anonymous potential buyers through a broker. The deal is not done, but Lee has started the process of transferring the liquor license, which lists the potential new business name as “Daddy Bones,” despite Lee advising the buyers “not to change anything.” Stay tuned for more details.
