Preeti Mistry, chef/owner of Oakland’s Juhu Beach Club, is expanding her empire with wife/business partner Ann Nadeau, with Navi Kitchen in Emeryville. The restaurant will be the duo’s second, following the success of JBC in Oakland.
Opening in spring 2017, Navi will serve as a casual, all-day restaurant with a heavy emphasis on chai, coffee, and milk shakes. Indian cuisine will inform the menu, as at Juhu Beach Club, but this time there will be Neapolitan-style pizzas with ingredients like chaat masala frying peppers, along side rotisserie chicken with burnt masala brine and tikka masala mac and cheese. Beer and wine will be available as well.
To start, Navi will be lunch and dinner only, but brunch will be on the horizon soon after the restaurant gets up and running. Stay tuned for more details on the space (at 5000 Adeline St.), menu, and more.
