Wolfgang Puck’s iconic Postrio restaurant is getting a new life. Rambler will now occupy the storied space, a Californian restaurant from Hat Trick Hospitality (Adam Snyder, Hugo Gamboa, and Andy Wasserman), the team behind Sabrosa, Redford, and The Brixton.
As the restaurant is in Hotel Zeppelin, it will eventually operate all day, but for now launches with dinner service. Executive chef Robert Leva (Salt House, Redd, Auberge du Soleil, Calistoga Ranch) created a menu of Californian fare that leans Italian. Dishes like charred little gem salad, creamy chanterelle toast, and wood-fired oven pizzas and mains are on the menu, which you can see in full below. Bar manager Simone Mims (Rich Table, Foreign Cinema) is behind the cocktails, which are housemade and seasonal, as many in this city are.
Hotel restaurants should always have a luxurious feel to them, and Rambler certainly achieves that. Designed by Lori Yeomans (Wayfare Tavern, Sammy Hagar’s El Paseo), the space is full of warm tones, leather seating, wood tables, and textured walls. There are two distinct space — the bar area and the dining room — that all in all seats 100 people. The bar area has a large, wraparound bar and tables with leather banquettes, while the dining room is full of flannel banquettes and vintage photography. There’s also a separate mini-bar in the dining room with four seats, called Zinc Bar for its zinc top.
Rambler opens Thursday, October 13, and will be open Sunday through Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. to start.
