There’s no more Boudin on Market Street
After 26 years, Boudin Bakery has called it quits on its Market Street location, telling Hoodline that, “As a company, we are moving forward with opening and operating our Boudin SF concept, which offers diners an expanded menu. Unfortunately, it was not feasible to retrofit this historic building to accommodate the needs of Boudin SF.” Employees were shuffled around to other locations around the city, which remain open.
Range will soon close and morph into a different concept
Twelve years after it opened, Range’s days are limited to the end of the month. Co-owner Phil West told The Chronicle that there are already (apparently secret) plans for the Mission space since there’s 10 years left on the lease, but that right now he’s focused on closing the restaurant. West points to an increase in dining options and changes in the local economy as reasons for the closure.
Get ready for Boba Guys’ 12 days of Christmas
Starting December 11 and running through December 23, SF-grown bubble tea purveyor Boba Guys will run a 12 days of Christmas campaign, when they will hide gift cards throughout the city and leave hints on their whereabouts on Facebook. So keep an eye on their page for some free boba.
Pauline’s Pizza is for sale
Another Mission restaurant is closing, with Pauline’s Pizza now for sale. It’s listed for $150,000 on Craigslist, for unknown reasons, Capp Street Crap reports.
Napa’s Basalt has a new head chef in charge
Seven months after its opening in downtown Napa, Basalt has a new head chef in Nick Sherman, who was most recently chef de cuisine at Farm. The Californian menu will remain, with additions such as spaghetti alla chitarra with black trumpet mushrooms, guanciale, confit egg yolk and Vella dry jack cheese.
