The details are trickling out on Michael Mina’s formerly top-secret project at 350 Mission St., AKA the upcoming Salesforce building slated to debut early 2018. Remember Middle’terranea, the Mina Test Kitchen’s first concept? That’s the inspiration for the new space, Mina told Eater, though it will have a different name. “It will be based off of that, but more elaborate,” he said. “So not just one tasting menu — it will be a full menu with a very robust Mediterranean fish program and spices. But it's going to be that theme.”

The Middle’terranea menu included such ethnic dishes as chargrilled meats and flatbread with za’atar-cured salmon, red onion labneh, pickled beet and fried zucchini. There’s no chef attached to the project yet, as it’s still a ways off, but Mina and his right-hand-chef Adam Sobel will be heavily involved (especially now that Mina’s got so much time on his hands after stepping down as Mina Group CEO). Stay tuned for more details as the project nears.
